Saint Victor La Coste: a picturesque and historic village of approximately 1900 inhabitants is set in a beautiful landscape near Avignon on the edge of Provence.  At the foot of a hill dominated by a medieval castle, the village overlooks a small vineyard-covered plain, and offers the view of other near-by villages set against hills.  In contrast, the south side of the village is more rugged with its rocky hills, covered with wild flowers and shrubs. 
In the center of the village, slightly downhill from the restored site, one can find a café, a bakery, a post office and two general stores.

Weather: The summer in southern France is usually hot and sunny with the occasional cool evening. May and September evenings can be cool. It can be cold in October.
