The village of Saint Victor la Coste between Nîmes, Uzès and Avignon
is divided into two parts. On the upper part, at the bottom of the hill, the medieval village in the ramparts. It is in this place that volunteers work to save and live

St Victor la Coste: A picturesque village of 1900 inhabitants near Avignon, between Provence, Languedoc, and the Rhone valley.  At the heights of the hill which overlooks St Victor is the Casellas, a medieval castle which dominates the old village and offers a view on the rocky scrub forests, la garrigue,  to the south and on the plains, vineyards, and surrounding villages to the north.  Just below the restored hamlet is a café/restaurant, a bakery, a poste office, a tobacco/news stand/gift shop, and a small grocery store.  There is also a pharmacie and a village doctor.
